File Setup Instructions
Proper file setup ensures better print quality, faster approvals, and fewer production delays.
General Artwork Requirements
Preferred File Types
Proper file setup ensures the highest print quality and fastest turnaround. Please review the guidelines below before submitting your artwork.
Production begins only after files meet the requirements below.
We recommend submitting:
- PNG (300 DPI, transparent background)
- AI (Adobe Illustrator)
- SVG
- EPS (vector format)
- PSD (high resolution, layers intact)
Avoid submitting low-resolution JPEGs or screenshots whenever possible.
Resolution
- Minimum: 300 DPI at final print size
- Artwork must be sized correctly before submission
- Low-resolution files will print blurry or pixelated
If your file is under 300 DPI, we may request a replacement file before production.
Color Mode
- RGB files are preferred for DTF printing
- CMYK may be required for certain large format prints
- Colors on screen may vary slightly from final printed results
We are not responsible for color shifts due to incorrect color profiles or monitor settings.
DTF Transfer File Setup
For Direct-to-Film transfers:
- Submit files with a transparent background
- Do not include mockups or background layers
- Size artwork to exact print dimensions
- Ensure text is outlined or flattened
For gang sheets:
- Submit artwork pre-arranged OR
- Use our gang sheet builder tool
We are not responsible for spacing or sizing errors if files are submitted pre-built.
Embroidery File Setup
For embroidery:
- Vector files (AI, SVG, EPS) are strongly preferred
- Convert all fonts to outlines
- Provide Pantone color references when possible
New logos require digitizing before stitching. A one-time digitizing fee may apply.
Extremely small details, gradients, or thin lines may not translate well to embroidery and may require adjustments.
UV Flatbed Printing
When submitting files for UV printing:
- Provide exact dimensions
- Confirm material type
- Include bleed (if applicable)
- Convert fonts to outlines
Surface texture may affect final appearance. Test prints may be recommended for specialty materials.
Large Format Printing (Banners & Signage)
- Minimum 150-300 DPI at full size
- Include bleed (0.125-0.25 inches depending on project)
- Keep important text inside safe margins
- Convert all fonts to outlines
Oversized files should be scaled proportionally if needed - contact us if unsure.
Common File Mistakes to Avoid
- Screenshots from social media
- Images pulled from Google
- Low-resolution logos
- Missing fonts
- Unoutlined text
- Incorrect sizing
If your file does not meet production standards, we will contact you before printing.
